The ripple effects of the dynasty politics in J&K. By shujaat Wani

“The dynasty politics is responsible for all the events whether it is 1987 election rigging or the abrogation of the Article 35A and 370 and here we are today begging for the restoration of statehood and 4G services in the valley”

Being a twenty two year(22) year old student activist from J&K and what I have personally felt and experienced, let me first give you a little background that how these two main post-political family establishments were doing their family politics and implementing their policies in a strategic and diplomatic manner just to fulfil their greed of power and money which led to the clampdown in the mainstream politics of J&K.

These post political regimes had been playing their scrupulous politics from a very long time and when the lives of the innocent people were being put to an end here, they were busy in dancing over the coffins of these innocent people in New-Delhi.

The Abdullah’s and Mufti’ manifested the roadmap of the family politics with a very clear intention that they will never allow a common Kashmiri with no political baggage to join hands with the people who were sitting in New-Delhi because they knew it that the solution of peace and prosperity was lying in the hands of the common people as we never wanted this conflict to take lives of our beloved one’s. After the abrogation of Article 35A and 370 this was one of the biggest reasons behind their frustration and raging anger as they realized that now the doors in mainstream politics will get opened for the commoners' and this might be the end of their long deceitful politics.

The political strategy of these two “Khandani Raaj” based political parties was to befool the people on the name of roads, water and electricity to gain their votes and after coming in power they used to play blame games just to deviate us from the real grassroot level problems. In actuality, these two political parties are two sides of the same coin and they can not be separated from each other. We have witnessed this in 2018 when the alliance between BJP and PDP ended up and then NC and PDP were both ready to join hands with each other to sideline JKPC , as these two parties never wanted any other political front to emerge as a strong option for the people in future.

In every election you would find the topmost leadership from these two political parties on roads in between the commoners' pitching their fake promises but after winning elections and regaining powerful positions, they would never allow these commoners' inside their office premises. This is what this young generation has to understand and change.

However, these two parties had done a single favour on us and that is they had made us among the top states/uts in terms of corruption, nepotism, backwardness and the state/ut with the lowest economy.

In creating an elitist system these two parties again had played an important role. In the administration / administrative offices where a common man was being forced to wait for weeks to get an appointment, on the contrary the kin’s of these two political regimes would get an easy access in these offices on a single phone call. 

This kind of rotten and atrocious system was built by these two political parties in all those years, this is what they had provided us instead of their promises that they used to pitch in their election rallies. Ironically the people joining these rallies were either paid money or they were given some dreadful stuffs like drugs by these political parties. This is the reality, that how these two political mafia establishments had used and exploited the young minds of the valley for their political ambitions. 

The hands of these so called leaders from these two political establishments are trenched in blood and they had sold their consciences for the sake of power and money. In present scenario, they are trying to be the champions and leaders of the valley by demanding the restoration of Articles 35A and 370. We should understand that they are not demanding the restoration of the special status for the people of J&K but in actuality they are demanding the special status for themselves and for their close by-products working with them. On the other hand this young generation had understood the things very clearly and now they are not going to fell into their traps. This generation demands the restoration of peace, dignity, prosperity and development from the central authorities.

Today Iltija Mufti, daughter of Mehbooba Mufti is trying to be the champion of Human Rights in J&K but I wonder how will she face those families who lost their young children during her mother’s tenure? 

During 2016 unrest, on Aug25, Mehooba Mufti justified the innocent killings by stating that, “Those killed in Kashmir hadn’t gone to buy milk and toffees”.

In the same press conference she claims that 95 percent of people here are living peacefully and are not involved in voilence. On the contrary Iltija Mufti at India Today enclave which was held in Mumbai said that, “An ordinary Kashmiri look at India as an occupying force”.

I am not personally able to understand that how is an ordinary kashmiri living peacefully at the same time when he is feeling that he is being opressed?

Can Iltija justify the killings of the peace ambassadors like Late. Shujaat Bukhari and Late.Adv.Imtiyaz.Ah.Khan who were shot dead brutally during her mother’s tenure?

The daughter of the Ex-Chief Minister Mehooba Mufti became vocal regarding the issues after her mother was taken to detention on Aug 5 with top class facilities. This his how this abrogation affected their family politics as I had stated above.

Iltija Mufti may be thinking that she will come and land like a paratrooper on our heads just like her mother leading the political set up of her grandfather Mr. Mufti Mohd Saeed. 

My suggestion to her will be that she should not speak like a 5yr old kid who has been fed with the golden spoons.

This is the time where we should self- introspect ourselves, that isn’t this the time where we need a new and transparent political system free from corruption and nepotism. The young minds should come up with new visionary ideas with a sense of consensus to fight against these old and strong political establishments and that will be our first step towards peace and prosperity.
